How to find your PUK Number

Your phone will get locked out if you enter the incorrect pin three times, when this happens you cant make or receive phone calls, send and receive SMSs or use your data.

Many people go into panic mode when they get locked out, but Vodacom says “keep calm and use your PUK number.

PUK number??What is it?? PUK stands for PIN Unblocking Key and it’s used to unblock your SIM card if you enter the wrong PIN three times.

There are a number of ways to help you retrieve your PUK number and get you back to your usual social routine.
Simply use one of the methods below and enter your phone’s unique PUK number. After you’ve entered your PUK number,you’ll be able to create a new PIN – hopefully one you’ll remember!

Options to help you retrieve your PUK number.

Option 1.
Using My Vodacom App:- Your PUK number can be found easily with the help of the My Vodacom App. Once you have downloaded the app onto your phone, simply follow these four easy steps to retrieve your PUK number.

Log into the My Vodacom App.

  • From the balance overview page open the main menu
  • Tap on the “My Account” menu item
  • From the drop down menu select “Account details”
  • You will then be required to log into the app to access this secure information

Option 2.

  • Dial *135#
  • Select ‘Services’
  • Select ‘PUK Number’

Option 3

  • SMS ‘VPP’ to 31050 from the cellphone number that you need the PUK for.

Option 4

  • Dial 082 135, FREE from a Vodacom cellphone, and follow the voice prompts.

If your phone is already blocked then the simplest method would be to log into My Vodacom online, where you can view your PUK number from the landing page.

Make sure you have the right PUK number and enter it correctly. If you enter the incorrect PUK number too many ti
mes, your SIM card will be permanently blocked and you’ll have to get a new one.

Dial *120*002# on your cellphone (You will get a Nedbank MobiMoney welcome message, choose option 1 to open MobiMoney account).

Accept terms and conditions,fill in your name as it appears on your South African ID, provide your ID number and create 5 digit pin.

Through Nedbank MobiMoney you deposit, withdraw, or remit cash at any Nedbank ATM or retail stores.
Your cellphone number is the wallet number.

MobiMoney transfer limit

MobiMoney is subject to the following transaction thresholds:
• Maximum funds held in Wallet: anytime – R24 000
• Withdrawal daily limit – R4 000
• Payment daily limit – R4 000
• Prepaid electricity daily limit – R1 000
• Prepaid airtime daily limit – R1 000
• Lotto daily limit – R1 000

Cell C Self Service

The following methods are available for self service with Cell C, if you want to get more from Cell C without consulting Cell Support.


To get your PUK number:

  1. Cell C Mobile App > Login using your username & password; click on the Menu bar; select Personal Information.
  2. Cell C Website > Login to Self-Service on www.cellc.co.za and view details under Security.
  3. Self-Service IVR > Call 135; option 1 for Manage; retrieve PUK.
  4. USSD > Dial *147#; option 9; option 5; option 2.
  5. Call 135 > Dial 135 & option 9 to speak to an agent.

For lost stolen or damaged sim.Get Sim Swap

Purchase a new Cell C starter pack but do not RICA, from participating outlets and follow these easy steps:

  1. Self-Service IVR> Dial 084135 from a landline or any other cellphone (You need to have an active
  2. Self-Service PIN); option 1 for “Manage”; “SIM Swop”.
  3. Go to any Cell C store and request a SIM Swop.
  4. Dial 084135 OR 135 & option 9 to speak to an agent.

Wait for at least 2 hours before inserting the new SIM card into your cellphone.


CHECK  ACCOUNT BALANCE IN 7 EASY WAYS.

  1. Cell C Mobile App > Check balances on the home screen.
  2. Self-Service IVR > Dial 135; option 1 for “Manage”; option 1 for “View Remaining Balance and Usage”.
  3. USSD > Dial *101# OR Dial *147#; option 2.
  4. Call 136 > Dial 136; option 0 for “Balance Enquiry”.
  5. SMS > SMS “bal” or “balance” to 14302.
  6. Cell C Website > Login to Self-Service on www.cellc.co.za.
  7. Call 135 > Dial 135 & option 9 to speak to an agent.

GET YOUR STATEMENT – FOLLOW STEPS:-

  1. Cell C Mobile App > Login to the app and “Invoice”.
  2. Cell C Website > Login Self-Service on www.cellc.co.za and go to “My Account History” and “Invoices”.
  3. Self-Service IVR > Call 135; Active Self-Service PIN; option 1 for “Manage”; option 1 for “Current Balance or Past and Present statements” and option 3 for past and present statements.
  4. Call 135> Dial 135 & option 9 to speak to an agent.

How to send please call me on vodacom.  Are you out of airtime and you really need to call and speak to someone.
Please call me on Vodacom allows you to send an SMS asking that person to call you. The service is free of charge.

To send please call me on vodacom. Dial *140*# e.g *140*0760123456#. You can send upto 10 please call me messages per day from vodacom network.
